Who else has little medical repair shop to do quick fixes until you can either get it fixed or get new ones (which we all know takes a long time usually)

Here is a few things we do for our son--(Our little medical repair shop in our home-LOL)

We have a back up of picture words and picture screens printed, picture book if his dynavox will not work

So my son's wheelchair has been leaving bruises on the back of his shoulder and the handles don't go down-so we got a squooshy pillow and use tye tyes --so now it is more comfortable,

we carry little tiny screwdrivers wherever we go to fix his wheelchair

we bought foam that you put on pipes and put it on his walker to make it more comfortable-he was hitting his thighs and getting black and blue marks

we carry ducttape to fix his talking badge so they fall apart we can quickly put them together so he can still use them until the real repair comes around

We carry gorilla glue with us to fix his wheelchair handles

we put a blanket on his bed every night on the side so when he snails up into it he don't get rug burns on his stomach

we carry a little screw driver to tighten his leg brakes-HKafos--if they start getting lose

We have duct tapes for the knee immobilizers if the metal things start poking out-

more-but that is all I can think of

We carrry all that and a set of hex keys with us for his wheelchair and gait trainer. Carry bandaids til we can get to the brace place to protect his feet where its rubbing. Have moleskin to help with the rubbing as well.
