How does a psycologist/therapist treat a sn child?
I have been seeing that in several other groups where ppl have posted that their 4yr old, 5yr old, even a 3yr old is in therapy. What I don't understand is how a therapist can help typical kids that age let alone children that are special needs? Lina just turned 9 but has the mental ability of a 4-4.5 yr old but also doesn't communicate very well, she talks and you can understand her but her actual communication isn't real good. To get an answer you have to ask the right question but also in the right way then she may actually answer the question, it has taken even me several tries to get the information from her. I guess I understand in some instances needing a child talk to someone outside the family like if there was violence or sexual abuse, but having a child in therapy for things associated to their sn how does that work? I am just curious because of the many posts I've read in other groups that say their very young child is in therapy.
My Second time around & loving it!
