My son is two years old. He has a speech delay and a sensory disorder. In two weeks he is getting tested for autism and I was wondering what to expect. How do they check for autism? They said it can take two-three hours.

Yep, Joy is right on with what will happen.  My son was diagnosed with Autism at 18 months old and is now 4 years old.  That diagnosis was actually good for him as it got him the therapy he needed!  Hugs mama!

Good luck, good vibes.

If they diagnose him, be prepared for a mourning period for you. As much as I knew it would be our outcome, I still was extremely sad for about a month after the diagnosis. This is okay. You just keep on keepin' on.
