Hi my name is Francis and I have a 6 yr old son who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when he was 2 yrs old. I would like to make some friends that have children with the same diagnostic or similar issues so that we can share different ideas and just converse. Sometimes you just need someone to talk to that's going through the same thing.

Welcome to the group! You made a great first step in coming to this group because you will always find a lot of great support and information from all of the ladies here. Joining a local support group always helps in finding local resources, and you can find one through Autism Society (http://www.autism-society.org/), Autism Speaks (http://www.autismspeaks.org/), and Easter Seals (http://www.easterseals.org/). I recommend learning more about Special Education through http://www.wrightslaw.com/. You can find recreational activities for disabled children through Special Olympics (http://www.specialolympics.org/), TheARC (http://www.thearc.org/), and Variety Club (http://www.usvariety.org/).

Welcome to the group. I don't have experience with PDD but I really like to listen. I've gotten some good ideas & advice from other Moms here that have helped me with my granddaughter who has other issues and those have worked well in some of the areas for disciplin and seeing that she may be showing signs of other possibly even new disorders. She has a unique chromosomal anomaly on 2 chromosomes that no other person has so we don't know what may happen in the future or what is really going on now. So what you go thru will probably even help me in dealing with Lina. So you will be helping me too. That is what I really like about this group. I hope that you will enjoy being a part of it too!

Hi, I don't have any experience with PDD, but I have gotten lots of support and advice from others in this group. My dd has a list of diagnosis that seems a mile long, but being able to come here and ask for help or just chat is awesome!
