Valproic Acid - Question

Ara takes liquid Valproic Acid three times a day for her seizures.  We have noticed that she is having less seizures but the two or three she is having almost everyday seem to be longer than they used to last, is this common?

Also she is eating more food than usual, I am not worried about this :) I am actually happy she normally eats a two-three table spoons of food at a sitting and now she is eating full meals of what she likes. Yesterday she at chicken, a quarter of a bunch of grapes, milk then asked for a waffle and about an hour latter she ate a squeezy pouch of apple sauce/veggie mix.  Has anyone else have a kid gain weight on this medication?

Valproic acid did not help my son's seizures, and he's always been a big eater, so no help here. Sorry

My daughter takes it 3 times daily. Sometimes they are short, other times hers may be long.
