It has been almost 2 years since my son did the intensive feeding therapy clinic. Today we had his periodic follow up, They are really happy with his progress overall, but concerned with no progress towards textures/solids and they were concerned about his anxiety level when I showed them what he does when we try. So, I have yet another strategy to try and if we get no results, they are recommending that we do the feeding clinic again, this time for textures. They said we could do it over the summer so he wouldn't have to miss school. So, I have a few months to make this new strategy work or we'll be back there again. I am not entirely sure that would be a bad thing, though, if it meant some real progress in eating table foods. He is almost 8 and still on stage 3 foods and soft solids like pudding and yogurt.
They also want him to go for an upper GI series, because the GI doc was concerned with the way I described his acid reflux pain, he said he'd rather rule out anything else going on, that he didn't think it sounded like typical reflux.
Feeling a little overwhelmed.
