Quoting antiquehearts: Hello. My name is Emily and I live in central Texas. I am 22 weeks pregnant with my third baby(a boy!!) and recently received the news that my little one will be born with gastroschisis. I'm scared, but finding a little more strength every day. :)

Forgive me, I forget that it's fairly uncommon. Gastroschisis is a birth defect. A small opening where the abdominal wall failed to form, leaving a hole. Intestines, stomach, liver and other organs grow outside of the baby's body and are outside of their body at birth. It requires immediate surgery after birth and a significant NICU stay. Every case is different, so the possible complications are many. :c hard road we're facing.

Hi gals. My son is 4 yr old, He was diagnosed exactly 1 month before his 4th b day with Autism, SPD, Expressive-Receptive Communication disorder, Articulation disorder, ADHD, Anxiety-NOS, lack of coordination, speech delay. I was SAHM 1st two years then went back to school for 1 1/2yr. I then got my 1st job in 4 yrs and loved it!! Minimum wage but it was my passion, however, it started keeping me away from home longer and longer. I knew my baby needed me... I'm truly the only person who can understand him. The only one who really tries. So here we are again, I'm a SAHM again with our long awaited recent diagnosis. We're signing up for anything we can. Applying for programs that have 2+ yrs waiting lists and playing the game! I personally do not have a support system at all... No family to rely on. So I'm really looking for and trying to find support, friendships, advice, and somebody to relate to. Desperately!!! :)
