Can someone please tell me why people are upset with Autism Speaks?

From what I gather, there was a huge difference of opinions in upper level management with the group and some parents and self advocates decided to launch a boycot of the group. It seems the issues had to do with viewing autism as a disability vs autism as a difference (negative vs positive). The leader of the group apparently wrote a piece that those boycotting the group thought portrayed autism families (and their struggles) in a negative light. They didn't like or appreciate the negativity, so they want to break away from the group. This was all happening back in the Fall. I'm not sure if more (or something else) has happened since.

It also seems to have alot to do with how the funds are being used.
