HI everyone...I hope I am in the right place. I am a single mom to a boy I have neurofibromatosis type 1 and my son is in the testing/final stages of being diagnosed with ADHD/ADD and sensory processing disorder. I do not have much support from my family, they dont belive in it and think its overly diagnoised and that it is only diet related.

I just need some advice and I honestly dont know what else.

Again I am not sure if this is the right place. and sorry for spelling and grammar issues its apart of the NF1

Welcome! My son has both ADHD and SPD, as well. It can be a serious challenge. We got rid of ALL artificial dye, got him started on 10 mg of adderol, and work with a behavioral specialist to help him communicate when he's overwhelmed and nearing a melt down.
Are you considering medication?

Thank you...new to this (well being the parent) feeling frustrated and like I am an island like alone and feel like I have no one to turn to. I dont want my kid judged, he is a good kid, just very energetic and doesnt always realize actions have conequences.

NF1  is a tumor disorder that is caused by the mutation of a gene on chromosome 17 that is responsible for control of cell division. NF-1 causes tumors along the nervous system. Common symptoms of NF-1 include scoliosis (curvature of the spine), learning disabilities, vision disorders, and epilepsy. sorry just copy and pasted from wikipedia not the best but it will do.

My family just doesnt belive either of those two things exist (spd or adhd)
