For Elijah, they alway sedate for attaching the electrodes, and then we stay in the hospital for 24-72 hours so they can see it without the sedation on board.

We had the awake one to check seizures originally but during her sleep studies they do them asleep, just not sedated.

The only sedated eeg's she's had were the ones when she was hospitalized after having bad seizures. She was sedated to stop the seizures & the electrodes were attached and they monitored her. Otherwise all her eeg's have been while she was awake, or in a natural sleep.
