bait and switch??? do any of you ladies know what this involves?
hey ladies has any of you heard or delt with bait and switch?... our agency won't answer our questions on the subject?
An example of bait and switch would be when the agency knows that you want a healthy, caucasian, newborn baby girl and they promise to match you with one in less than a year. AFTER you pay their sign up fees, they tell you that if you want to be matched in less than a year you must be willing to accept biracial, full AA, drug and alcohol exposed babies and toddlers. I have never dealt with this myself but I do know folks who have. If your agency is refusing to answer questions about this, I would walk away from that agency. Refusing to answer any hopeful adoptive parents question is a HUGE red flag IMHO.

we said any race, nb-3mo., some drug, alcho, smoke'n, (and illict drugs by a case by case basis.) they tell you on thier website to call in to find out more about thier listed bms on there, when you do they tell you that they are not updated. it seems like they are using this to get hopeful adopting families... thanks we are already on the hook for 12k with them. so i cant bug out right now.
Did they tell you that they limit the number of prospective adoptive parents (PAPs) they accept?
Many agencies will claim that they limit the number of adoptive parents they accept based on the number of expectant women considering adoption (EWCA) with that agency. They make sure they maintain a certain ratio of EWCA and PAPs. The idea is to avoid a situation where there are an abundance of PAPs compared to the number of EWCA.
I'm no legal expert, but "bait and switch" is illegal--in any business or industry. It's a form of fraud.
