Are you starting to gather information? Working on your license and homestudy? Waiting for a match? Waiting for a court date? Or have you completely finalized?
I know we've talked about this before... But we've had lots of new members join us recently, and some of us have moved farther along our journey since the last time we discussed it.
So tell us -- where is your family at in the adoption process?
We are trying to decide what our next step should be after such major disappointment in such a short period of time.
We are preparing to receive information about a possible foster-adopt match and are praying for our first placement this summer. We began our process July 2010, got licensed September 2011 then had to switch to a private agency April 2012 because the state decided they did not want to work with us because we wanted to adopt children from foster care. It does not even make sense to our foster licensor. This will be our first child and we will most likely be matched with a child 8 or older.
We're gathering information right now, we're considering adoption through foster care but we're stationed overseas for another year and I dont think they have foster care here.
I am 33 months on adoption waiting list for newborn girl - being single and gender specific makes it a long wait! I'm now #1 on the waiting list for a girl, so hopefully it'll happen soon. I also just got engaged, so we're now working on creating a new profile that includes both of us.
