Where are you at in the adoption process?

Are you starting to gather information? Working on your license and homestudy? Waiting for a match? Waiting for a court date? Or have you completely finalized?

I know we've talked about this before... But we've had lots of new members join us recently, and some of us have moved farther along our journey since the last time we discussed it.

So tell us -- where is your family at in the adoption process?

We are still collecting information...although we have been doing this for some years now.  I think we are just trying to discern when is the right timing and which route we will choose.

We're approved and waiting! =)

We're pursuing infant domestic, so we know we have time on our hands. We know that God will bring us the child that is meant to be part of our family, in His time.

We are 15 months past finalization.  After fostering our kids for 3.5 YEARS  before finalization happened, we haven't really had a lot of adjusting to do.

3.5 years? Wow!

They were actually in foster care for 3 months shy of 5 years!  It's a little crazy!

We first pursued non agency, we did it on our own (with a lawyer after the mothers came to us),  and after the failed ones while we were still in washington we looked into an agency that dealt with dshs and were about to start our classes when we decided to move back to san diego, we are open to either straight adopt from foster care, or domestic adoption. (our age range is from infant to 7).
Right now we are in a small house with only two rooms and my brother in law is living with us, so at the moment its not our time,  but you never know what will happen  :) i love spoiling my neices and nephews at the moment.. and i have been blessed to being asked to be a godmother multiple times.. lol.. and thank you , i am as my husband says impatiently waiting..haha

Do you mind if I ask what type of adoption you are pursuing?

You can never go wrong by waiting and listening for God's timing. I hope you will soon be able to see clearly what his awesome plan is for your family!

We are in the Waiting Pot, meaning for us that when God shows us its time again to try for adoption we will..  we have had a couple failed ones, and when the time comes for us to become parents we will :)

My husband and I have been chosen for a little boy. We are waiting for everybody to agree on a day that they are available for a presentation with the little boy's case worker. She will present all the information that she has on him, including his medical issues. I am both excited and nervous. I hate the wait. I told my husband, we know there is a little boy who is ours if we go forward with it and it seems we are so close, yet so far away. Once we are presented with his history, my husband and I will be given time to discuss it. And if we want to go forward, we will get to go meet him. But how do I keep everything in perspective when making that VERY important decision that has to be made on if we are a good fit for each other and not on the fact of just how much I desire to be a mom?
