I had our first visit with our son! We met his foster mom and she was great! we all talked about him and his behaviors and stuff while my daughter and he played in the play area. I finally went in there and got to chat with him and we took a few pictures and we watched them play. He called our DD his sister tonight and he wanted to come home with us. I sooooooo wish he could have. It ripped my heart out to have to say goodbye tonight. I feel so lucky because we did have an instant connection. Our daughter cried when we left and my husband sang all the way home. I am so full of joy. I know the hard part is coming with the adjustment period but we are ready to have him home. :) We get to have a couple overnight visits next week!
What comes next in the transition, or do you know yet?
We will have an overnight next week! I don't know if we can wait a whole week. :( We are going to call him every day until then. We are going camping this weekend and we really wanted him to come but they (and honestly we) felt it might be a little too intense for this early on. She was shocked at how well it went so he might get to come home for good soon! We were hoping he would come home full time before Thanksgiving but they think it might be sooner than that!
