help settle a debate... "love" vs "lover"

To me they have a different meaning and feelings involved. He says they mean the same thing and he uses them interchangeably. So my question is.. what do other women think? Are the the same or do they mean different things?
I think they can be interchangeable, depending on the context. For example: A person that has had a one night stand may remember that partner as the best lover they have ever had. But, that doesn't mean they LOVE that person. In that instance they would not be interchangeable, but in your case....it would be.

I guess I think that if my boyfriend still considers me sexy enough to consider me his "lover" after this long, that's a good thing! Lol.

I can see your point... I guess when I hear my love I think of "I love you" & the emotions that stirs in me.... yet my lover makes me smile but not the same feelings.

That's why I struggle with it even though I know he means both to be endearing.

Lover, to me, means someone you're having an affair with/sleeping with, not someone you're in love with. I dunno if im the only one that views it that way.
Sounds like you are his love and his lover... so why does it matter? lol Sure it CAN mean... love, the person u are in love with... lover... the person u physically show affection to... but at this point, over a year, I think him texting u every morning is sweet, regardless of the term love or lover.
