Official '50 Shades of Grey' Sex Toys Are Coming: Will Ian Somerhalder Sell Them?

by Maressa Brown

soft limits tie lovehoneyBesides being one of the most successful, buzzworthy, and oh yeah, X-rated books of 2012, Fifty Shades of Grey is a CASH COW. Products based on the books have been popping out of the woodwork for months now, so it's really no surprise that there's now a Fifty Shades sex toy line from Lovehoney, which will be available in the U.S. on April 8. What is especially intriguing, however, is that this line is the official one -- developed with E.L. James!

Yup, Lovehoney "worked closely with E.L. James to make sure the stylish, high quality range perfectly recreates the items used by Ana and her billionaire lover Christian Grey." She's even said of it, "This range is what I always imagined while I was writing Fifty Shades of Grey. I’m so excited that the toys I described in the books have come to life and can now be enjoyed around the world." Hot! Erika even let Lovehoney use some key phrases from Christian and Ana's story ...

The press release for the toys is pleased to introduce "the signature Goddess Silver Pleasure Balls, the Submit to Me First Time Bondage Kit, and the Twitchy Palm Spanking Paddle.” Other products currently on sale in the U.K. include the "We Aim to Please Vibrating Bullet" and "Charlie Tango Classic Vibrator." Wow, gotta love the tie-ins to actual buzzwords from the books, right? That definitely adds a certain ... je ne sais quoi to the toys.

Maybe the official endorsement from the woman who actually invented the fantasy will make them even hotter to use? At the very least, hopefully it makes them a bit more accessible for women who would otherwise shy away from experimenting with something like a set of, err, well, pleasure balls!

And by the way, as long as there are going to be major tie-ins from the book, I wouldn't be surprised if the line made a play to capitalize on the film, too ... That could mean Ian Somerhalder becoming the "brand ambassador" for the line! Ha! I'm not sure I see that happening in the near future, but Fifty fans can dream ...

Lol lol omg that's silly. All of the kinds of toys that are in the book can already be bought at adult stores and online. All they are doing is add their logo so they can charge more for it. Lol I think its silly

No, im constantly aggrivated by all of this 50 shades of grey bullshit. I am so fucking tired of hearing about this aweful book that is contributing to tons of people getting hurt because they dont take it as the shitty trashy coffetable mom porn it is and try and act the completely rediculous and farfetched scenes and relationship dynamics in it. Honestly i think the book, its author, and now that manufacturer are irresponsible as hell.

WHOOPDEE DOO!!

All those items are available now, and have been for quite some time.

Now you'll just pay DOUBLE for having the name stamped on them.

holy cow! ur the ONLY woman i have EVER heard that had the same opinion that i did! i did read the book, (only the first one) and all i could think of was, well that's 12 bucks i'll never see again. boy i'm gonna get slammered here, but i just thot the book was poorly written. (the editor of a college newspaper sent out a roommate instead of a subordinate? a virgin subjected herself to such treatment w/ NO previous sexual experience?) yes i know many of the women in the small town i live in loved it. but.... i guess i just didn't 'get' it. i too, thot it was an irresponsible book... hey whatever blows ur skirt up but the b and d was portrayed in such a way that if that example were followed, people could get seriously hurt. and i just don't believe any sort of sex play could or should be FUN if real humiliation is involved. ok. rant over. and i'm ready for the hate mail to begin. heh.

I loved the books and can't wait for the movie. However the toys I'm guessing are just higher priced because they have the 50 shades logo on them. You can buy them anywhere.
