What is the difference between a lover, and a friend with benefits?

a friends with benefits would be someone you don't have any commitment to. You're just friends. You can date other people and do what you want.

With a lover you have feelings.
FWB no feelings just fucking.
Neither has commitment.

Idk. To me it could be interchangable. I wouldn't call my BF/SO my lover because they are more than just that.

A lover is in between dating and fwb. Often its an extra relationship thing I find.

My BF is married. He and his wife each have a gf. He and I are committed to each other... it is a "closed" polyamourous relationship. He refers to me as his love/lover/gf.... it all means the same to him. I think it is up to each person/couple to decide for themselves
