To the mods - "Anonymous Posting"

5 moms liked this

I get the need for Anonymous posting - especially for the "confessions" group.  However opening the door to post anonymously is allowing a WHOLE LOT of trolls and jackasses to completely bash and try to hurt the women who come here to get advice, confess, and find reassurance.

Can't there be something in the rules for this group that says no trolling with a def of what that is - the whole "if you aren't adding value to the conversation" etc.?

Unfortunately I don't think that's possible.

Im new to this and sometimes the abriviations and lingo confuse me. what is trolling??

Well, its a bunch of different things that a person can do to get a rise out of people or an individual.  It could be lying and making up crazy stories and posts, or making a comment just to get a rise out of someone.  It's someone that enjoys pissing people off and getting someone in a hissy.

There is. One time I was acting stupid and posted stupid stuff and and it got out of hand. I got an email from the mod, saying that what I said was inappropriate. So it's not truly anonymous. I'm telling you guys that so you can feel better that dumb people such as myself do get in trouble.

Mel - actually one of the Mods already responded on here earlier in the thread, which is what I was looking ffor. just some guidance  on what was considered attacking.  thanks! :)

I don't know what to tell you.....they will still do it.  I don't condone it, but I know that it happens and you just have to ignore it sometimes.  If they break a rule then you can report it....other than that, there is nothing else CM will do.  I have had my share of rude and out of line comments, as well as anybody else that has been here long enough.  Sometimes I ignore it, sometimes I call someone out and stick up for myself.  but CM isn't going to change anything and I don't expect them to.

Quoting Tracie.Rathsack:

hey mel -

I have no problem with stated opinions. What i have a problem with are attacks.  For example, a young girl posted about abortions and a current pregnancy. One of the comments went along the lines of "you should feel bad you murdered your babies".

There is a difference in opinion and that.  I'll debate with anyone - anywhere - anytime. I enjoy it. Immensely. And i've been known to change my mind. But that crap up there is unacceptable.

Quoting mel18:

They have TOS.  I don't know outside of that what they really could do to prevent it.  If you break TOS rules then you get your comment removed and you get a warning.  If you continue to do it then you get banned.  So outside of that, there isn't much more they can do.  I like the feature, and its to be expected that someone would abuse it.  But then again there are women on here that will state their opinion without using the feature.  So that being said, you have to take the good with the bad.

I know its awful how people act but there going to do that no matter what. just like i posted asking for ways to naturally induce cuz its something i want to try thats really important to me and i had people calling me stupid. it got so bad i had to delete the post. people just like to hurt others it seems like

Your kidding right?  That is so not what happened.  I find it funny that you really did just try to say this, when in reality the last thing you said on that post was directed at ME when I didn't say anything about you being stupid or anything of the sort.  You must have thought that I didn't have a chance to read what you said before you deleted it?  Come on now, if your going to play the victim card, at least have your facts straight.  You said some pretty off the wall and crazy things and then when ANYBODY asked you about it, you accused them of saying you where dumb........when they DIDN'T.   I asked you a question about something you said and you accused me of saying that you where dumb.  You put words in my mouth and twisted things around with other people as well.  SMH.

Just be careful of people that play victim when that really isn't the case.  I have seen that happen, as a matter of fact in THIS post.  I have seen people say things that are shocking, and worrisome, and when anybody asks about it they play victim and report them.  AKA "button humping".  Luring someone in to make it seem like they attacked you or broke TOS, when in reality they didn't.  This can go both ways.  Just thought I would add that, seeing as the opportunity showed itself right here in this post.
