EBF Moms.................

......Are on my last nerve. Ok I get it your doing whats best for your baby and your so much better than us formula feeding mothers...I undestand that it's such a commitment, I'm just sick of you moms acting like your better formula feeding moms, then b*** and complain about your decision. They made bottles for a reason to save you from all the pains of "EBF"...

Also If breast is best and makes your baby's brain bigger why are all the people in Africa still living in Huts? All the mothers in those villages "EBF". Just wondering...?

Ok "vent" over! :)

It doesn't "make your brain bigger"...It MAY increase the IQ of the baby compared to FF babies. They still live in huts because that's how they want to live probably. Plus, I am sure there is a money issue for them.

I FF my first and he's just fine and dandy. I am ebf my second right now and he too is just fine and dandy. I don't like BF but I don't like formula either...It's just not up to par. It's good if I fail at BF, but if I can BF for free and my baby is making out just fine then why pay an arm and a leg for formula?

What I don't get is that people say it makes them bond more with baby...I don't see any difference between my first and second bonding-wise. And also...If it is so natural to do then why does it take so much practice for so many(I know not all)? And why should I let baby decide when to wean when in nature animals wean there babies not babies wean themselves?

There's a lot of stuff I don't get but I am not going to bash anyone. I just want people to feed there babies the way they should be whether it's by formula or boobie milk....Read the directions on the can and do it right unless doctors tell you otherwise. Feed your baby food when they need it...Use your common sense and baby's cues folks!

Those people in other countries living in huts breastfeed because formula is expensive and the water is bad and their economy sucks worse than ours.

Why formula feed when boobs are free?

In the hospitals around here they like to say they support whatever the woman's decision is. But they push the hell out of breastfeeding. I tried but no milk came out so I had to bottle feed my first. I was accused of not doing it right (she latched on in the delivery room), and then there's the implication that you're selfish or lazy. It was such an ordeal but I was going to try with my son. The nurses in that hospital were all over my boobs, trying to push them into his face. They made him upset. Me too. So by the time I got to the 3rd kid, I said screw it, this works for me.

There definitely is a stigma and I've taken some very rude comments by friends, family and strangers alike - all to whom this is none of their beeswax.

Besides, what if you adopted your baby, and had no choice at all? Are those rude people even considering that possibility ?

I was breastfed. All my siblings were. I survived. My 11 yr old is in the top of her class, always has been. She scored 99% on her OSAT and always above average on her CMTs. My first son (21 mos old) speaks in clear responsive sentences, can count to 5, can draw circles, and knows many letters plus can write the letter S without us showing him how (he did it on a chalkboard, I thought it was an accident until he said "letter S". My younger son is 9 mos. old and is starting to walk and talk as well.

All bottlefed.

I don't condemn breast feeding but the ADVANTAGE to bottle fed is that they get a consistent amount of nutrition because formula has to conform to nutritional guidelines whereas breastfed milk is dependent upon what the mother consumes.

All great points! I definitely agree with the fact that formula follows nutritional guidelines where as breast milk comes from the nutrional level of the woman.

You are doing exactly what you claim EBF moms do.  You are complaining about how someone makes you feel about your decision.

Pumps are more painful, btw.
