Quoting DomoniqueWS:I understand your point, although, I have been with my SO for 5 years, almost as long as you, I don't want to bring another child in to this world unless we are married. Just the agreement we made.
I don't think getting married would jinx you, but I completely understand not having a desire to get married.

Quoting lovelife22:Sweety, just dive in...If you're really in a commited healthy relationship go all the way!
I understand why some couples don't married...but you lost me at it might curse your relationship? Commitment is commitment, regardless of marriage or not...if your relationship is truly on solid ground then nothing will "curse" it.
I can see where you are coming from. I just think taking that plunge and vowing before God and before each other is the deepest commitment you can make. Its wonderful to pledge your love for one another that way in a ceremony. KWIM? My hubby and I have been through a lot together and it stressed our marriage but we don't believe in divorce so we keep on. The longer we are together the more I am bonded to him, the more I deeply love him, the more we are one.
But in the end you have to do what you believe is best for you. IDK much about common law marriage but are you guys considered common law?

I've been with my SO for 5 years. I won't ever marry him, but I don't ever plan on leaving him either
