My bf & I have been in a committed relationship for 6 years. I believe if it isn't broken don't fix it ;D Others don't seem to understand. *shrugs* They always tell me how I'm living in sin & what not. But I just walk away b/c I feel no one should be in my buisness. (Such as fam & friends) I understand that we should get married for our children's sake but I just feel getting married might curse our very committed healthy relationship. Any other people agree or understand my point? No bashing or being mean!

I understand your point, although, I have been with my SO for 5 years, almost as long as you, I don't want to bring another child in to this world unless we are married.  Just the agreement we made.

That makes sense.

I don't think getting married would jinx you, but I completely understand not having a desire to get married.

I'm just being funny about the jinxing part. But yeah I mean if my bf proposed I might say yes! But I really don't mind either way. I think we need to be really positive if we do choose to get married.

I understand why some couples don't married...but you lost me at it might curse your relationship? Commitment is commitment, regardless of marriage or not...if your relationship is truly on solid ground then nothing will "curse" it.

I can see where you are coming from.  I just think taking that plunge and vowing before God and before each other is the deepest commitment you can make.  Its wonderful to pledge your love for one another that way in a ceremony.  KWIM?  My hubby and I have been through a lot together and it stressed our marriage but we don't believe in divorce so we keep on.  The longer we are together the more I am bonded to him, the more I deeply love him, the more we are one.

But in the end you have to do what you believe is best for you. IDK much about common law marriage but are you guys considered common law?

I've been with my SO for 5 years. I won't ever marry him, but I don't ever plan on leaving him either
