puke post from NC S/o.......

I can do it all, but not when it comes to puke. Not my own, not my childs. I just can't. I have a tendency to start puking at the thought of it. Gah.....

True story:

While pregnant with my first son, I had morning sickness so bad. The entire pregnancy.

One night I wasn't feeling great at all. We had company over. I went to bed. My hubs came in to check on me. I asked for some tylenol in hopes to rid a terrible headache.

I had no more than swallowed (roughly) the capsale when it started spewing all out. Everything. All I got out was "help....." as my husband had the door almost clossed to leave the room.

I was paralyzed at that moment. I really couldn't move due to how violently I was throwing up.

Our two dogs (yellow labs) were laying at my feet in bed with me. As soon as I could catch my breath my husband helped me to the shower. I had to take a shower in my clothing because of how badly it had gotten.

Well in that duration of time. The dogs had um, cleaned it up. Hubs let the guest know they had to leave.

He cleaned the dogs up and the room after making me comfortable on our living room couch.

The next day. We bought a new matress and new bedding. And threw all of the old stuff away.

=(

So what's something that wigs you out that you just can't do?

I have a major fear of vomiting (emetophobia) and I will pretty much do anything to avoid throwing up. It's weird but I am able to clean up when my daughter throws up without it being a huge deal. I really don't know why but I'm glad because most of the time it happens when I'm home alone.

I'm a nurse. There really isn't anything like that that I can't handle. Colostomy bags are rough, but I can handle it.

I cannot, however, use metal silverware to eat out of or off of glass dishes. I also cannot use metal on any type of metal or glass cookware. I cannot poke holes in aluminum foil covered baked potatoes. I avoid scraping my nails against any type of cloth (particularly the windbreaker type cloth). All of those types of things make this noise that literally hurts my whole body and makes me want to puke. It's only been like that since I was pregnant with my daughter. People think it's funny, but it's really not.

I know it's pretty horrible. My skin is so dry from washing my hands so much. I am starting to get better with certain things but I have to take it one day at a time. I really hate how people don't understand how a natural body function can be so scary. It's real to me I just wish they would be supportive.

I do not do puke either.  When my kids throw up they yell for dad.  I had a similar situation, the stomach bug hit my house on thanksgiving day.  First it was my daughter, then saturday night it was my son, then monday it was my husband.  A week later I was thinking that maybe it would not get to me, maybe my body fought it off.....Boy was I wrong.  I threw up, took a shower, had to shut the shower off to throw up in a garbage can 3 times.  I ended up in the hospital because I was so dehydrated.  I have a serious fear of throwing up, I take anxiety attacks while I am throwing up.  this was the first time I threw up since I was in tenth grade, I am 30.
