Do you judge someone by the State they live in?

For example, do you automatically assume people from arkansas are all inbred, moronic, hillbillies? and that people in texas all wear cowboy hats and own cattle? or that people in california are either, famous, gay, or rich?
I'm posting this because i keep gettin called stupid and other things simply because of my location, which is a gorgeous and green, hilly state with very friendly people.
if you have not been to that state yourself, you cant judge. thats stupid.
