Would this hurt your feelings?

Let's say you work outside the home full time and you take your baby to your sil's house. Then your baby starts calling your sil, mommy and cries when you pick him up to take him home because he wants to stay with your sil. My SIL drops off the baby at 6:30 and picks him up at 6 or 6:30 and baby is put to bed at 8pm. So really the baby barely sees my SIL. If this was your baby, would this hurt your feelings?

Yes. We recently had to live with my mom for a month. I work part-time, but enough to be missed by my kids. My son started calling my mom "mommy"....she would always correct him, but it still made me sad.

For sure... Mommy's NEED to feel wanted and needed, lack of this hurts our Ego's and our confidence to be a good Mommy.  It's not the baby's fault they only know what they are shown.   I think that this is something that most working Moms have to deal with, perhaps there are some other Moms that she can talk to for support.   I think that the most important thing is that she doesn't take it personally, very difficult but necessary.

Oh yes that would hurt! That's one reason why I didn't work much when I first had my babies! I was afraid of that!
