I think I am addicted.....

To food. No joke. I think I am addicted to food. I eat all kinds of food but even if it's healthy I find myself hiding when I eat (other than when it is meal times). By hiding I mean when DH is asleep, in the middle of the night, when DH is at work... I excercise and my main meals are healthy but I find myself WANTING to eat even when I am not hungry. I've even debated going to OA, but I have no time and I am really embarassed to talk to my DH about this. I am not morbidly obese but I do need to lose some weight. I am not  openly depressed (everyone thinks I am the happiest person ) and I really have no idea why I feel I need to eat all the time. Just needed to get this out.

That is called emotional eating... and I did it too for many years....  food can be just like a drug.... you get a relaxing rush from it... my favorite time would be at night when everyone else was asleep....  thank God I finally got control over it and dropped so far 58lbs.  Slowly you can change those habits....it is not easy but you can do it.

you might have a vitamin deficiency and your body is looking for whatever your body lacking. go to your doctor and ask them to run tests to see if you are lacking something.

This. I ate to temporarily heal my depression, to calm me when I was stressed or anxious, to cheer me up when I was sad, and to cure my boredom as well.

I've recently admitted the same thing to myself and in the back of my head I'm fantasizing about something from the kitchen. I'm not hungry at all. We need help mama.

Thank u. I know I need to change but it's overwhelming and I go back to eating. Ugh. I'm like forty lbs overweight. :/

I do the same & it sucks! Emotions, Boredom or the availability of it..my weakness is ice cream so I don't buy any to keep at the house; can't eat what ain't there! Keep ur self busy with anything this will fight off the boredom "attacks" & for the emotional kind, go somewhere do not stay at home (or drive near fast food! Lol ) go to a friends house or something. Also i make deals with myself, if i feel like i want to eat something i'll say i cant eat it until...i complete something that needs to be done like all dishes & laundry or walking/exercising for a certain amount of time, it helps me because by the time I finish doing whatever i wont want it or its actually time to eat lunch/dinner anyhow. Hope this helps!
