Tonight is night number 3 DH isn't sleeping in the same bed (he comes in around 2 am after I'm asleep. I got into a habit of falling asleep with the tv on while he was deployed because otherwise I'd have an anxiety attack over every noise I heard. Now I can't fall asleep without it on.... He hasn't had an issue with it for the past 4 months but all the sudden he gets up and leaves the room :( I hate him nt being next to me when I fall asleep but if the tv isn't on I lay here for hours wide awake :(

Maybe try music with headphones or something?  Dh does that if he wants background noise... I'm an extremely light sleeper and I wouldnt be able to be in the same room with the TV on either...

My mom slept in the bedroom and my step-dad always slept on the hide-a-bed in the living room... thought that was kinda weird. Never understood it.

I'm sorry.

Time to start breaking that habit though now that your husband is back, don't you think?

Play music. I cannot sleep with the TV on, because the lights distract me. But music, at a low level, works just fine.

I can't fall asleep with head phones, I hate wearing them even during the day, they irritate my ears :(
It's random that it just started now with him having an issue, he's a pretty heavy sleeper

I've tried, I end up laying in bed awake at night and not falling asleep. I tried coming to bed and nt having it on and last time I was awake for 4 hours, he got up to go to work and I turned it on and was asleep within a few minutes, I tried turning it off right before I fall asleep and I end up being wide awake.... Idk what else to do

I have the same issue but with the fan. My hubs works nights so we don't sleep together in the first place but I'm really sorry to hear about that :(9

It's partly the light that comes off the tv too, if its dark and quiet I can't fall asleep. And he normally isn't.bothered by the tv until this week, but,a normal light (like if I leave our bedroom door open since we leave the hallway light on) annoys him..

Maybe try a sleep aid for the first few nights without the TV on?  Just to get yourself used to the silence?  IDK, no other suggestions spring to mind...

My ex, his grandpa slept in the bed and his grandma on the couch, I thought it was odd myself, they didn't have a tv or anything in the bedroom and went to bed and woke up right around the same time. I have no idea what was going on with that one.
