My other chronic medical condition is I have stage 4 endometriosis. It's all over my bowels, my entire underside of my uterus is fused to my colon, as well as one of my ovaries. It is also on my sciatic nerve, and culdesac area. I have had surgery for it this past Nov. My doc said it was so extreme there wasn't really much she could do because it was like cement. I can't take anything with estrogen in it, so I'm on progesterone only bc pills. I will eventually need a complete hysterectomy, and bowel resection surgery. My af is so bad, I fill the bottom of the toilet a few times every af with clots. I bleed so heavy, and it feels just like back labor, mixed with someone stabbing me and ripping out my insides. I'm bed ridden for at least 4-6 days while on my af. Once again I'm useless. They have me on heavy narcotics for it,and those really don't even help.
I work part time, and I'm so ashamed to admit this, but I've missed 34 shifts since April 2011. :( I gave my work doctors notes for all shifts missed. I'm so broke. I need to continue to try and support my dd and myself. I just don't know what to do. I'm also in jeopardy of losing my job. My boss is constantly harassing me about my medical conditions. I just don't know how to deal anymore.
Does disability sound like the best option for me? I want to work so bad, I just don't know how I can though with how sick I am.
Please don't bash me.
In my unprofessional opinion, YES it is for you. I get the same types of migraine and have been hospitalized so many times I can't count.
But.... Idk of either of those are covered diseases. So you should look into it.
And don't feel ashamed. You tried to work. That's more than what most do.
Just be prepared for it to take a long time and for them to turn you down. If they do appeal it.
Any medical condition that causes you not to work is applicable Take into account you must be under a doctors care and it must be ongoing. The process could take up to a year and you could be denid and during the process you/doc have to submit a ton of paperwork and you will be contacted by the state to be assessed by there doc.
Try a company called Allsup they can help you start the long, long, hard process 1-800-560-1410.
I would think so, especially for the migraines. I feel for you. I have struggled with migraines for 25 years, although not quite as bad as you. They are not fun!! I also struggled with endometriosis so I know about the pain you go through too. I had a partial hysterectomy almost 2 years ago, which took care of that problem. Good luck to you!!
My mom has Ehlers Danlose, fybromyalgia, codp and several other medical problems and she's been fighting for disability for 6 years or more.
I'm not being mean or anything, but why can't you have that surgery now? I had alot of medical problems and had to have a partial hysterectomy done at 25 so I know what a hard decision it is, I understand that, but it sounds like you could use that surgery now instead of down the road. My mom had severe migranes, and after she had a hysterectomy they don't appear as much. The drs say one doesn't have to do with the other, but I don't know, it seemed to help her out alot. I mean she still has them, just not as often. I don't know if it was the same type as you or if there are even different types, I just don't know. But I mean if it would help you with your bowels and periods why not do it now?
You are more than qualified but the Gov't has a messed up way of looking at situations such as these..and they are HORRIBLE to deal with! And you might get denied your first go around..hire a lawyer...they really can make all the difference and can solidify your chances of being approved.
You can get free consultations. Ive been going through the disability process with the BF since about October last year. It takes them months to give you any sort of proper answer (says on their website 5-6 months and dont try going into the office they will just send you away) They will request more information about 3 months after you first send in the app and then keep asking for more information. You may get approved on your first go around..Good luck!
First, get a second and third opinion from different Drs. See if they can do anything differently. Migraines and endometriosis would be really hard to convince the state that it's a disability. I have had patients that would come in for steroid shots for migraines that wouldn't help and he still didn't qualify. Being that you already had an operation and are back at work I think it's going to be really hard to prove your case.
