I'm 25 years old. I am deathly terrified of the dark. I have anxiety so bad I can't sleep. Any helpful advice? I don't watch horror movies, so it's not because of that. And why bother going anonymous?
I sleep with a gun under my pillow. Damn boogy man is too scared of me. LOL.
its not the fact that i think something is there, but I had a tramautic experience as a child.

I have absolutely no advice for you, but i won't you to know, you're NOT alone. lol. I run though the house at night if I have to get up and do something....I need to grow up. It's the blind leading the blind.
I know and I am trying to get over this and grow up... I just dont know how.

I'm sorry. I was not teasing, i really sleep with a gun under my pillow. I was scared of the dark when i was young, but i was an avid hunter and i had to be in the woods before daylight and out after dark, so i got quickly use to it. I know a lot of full grown women who are scared of the dark. I am scared of heights, i can't even sit in a tree stand. Last time i climbed into one i broke down crying in front of my SO and got stuck half way up the tree. He had to help me down. do you keep night lights on all over your house? I do, but i have a 16 month old i am trying to potty train, so i need them to get her to the bathroom when she wakes up at night.

when my husband was deployed, no joke, every night I pulled the mattress off of the bed, drag it in the living room and sleep there with the lamp on. I did it for 8 months until...I forced myself to stand in the dark for a few seconds one night, and kept telling myself that nothing was there. I mean it didn't totally work. But I can at least sleep in the dark now.

I know and even if you were, I wouldn't hold it against you. It's pretty silly. When I was 5, my mom's ex husband stole me out of my bed and threw me in a shed. Thus my fear. I dont have any night lights but wish i did.
