i said this before when i was pregnant with my 1st child and got such a backlash for it. everyone seemed to take it as a personal shot against them that they felt compelled to say mean things to me.
heres my problem:
no matter how clean and well maintained the clothes were, i never wanted them because i think its a bit gross.the same goes for other clothing as well.i wont buy clothes from places that sell used clothing and i wont even wear my husbands shirts because of the same reason.it may possibly be because i have a mild form of OCD.
im not telling anyone they are disgusting for using used baby clothes, i just dont like it for my kids.
Edit: im not saying this because i think im in some way superior to anyone that takes used clothing,if you wanna have used clothes for your kids, be my guest, my brothers both do it for their kids and i dont judge them for it. its just not what i do. if some people dont understand how much it bothers me to have my kids in used clothes then thats fine. im not acting like im better than anyone else.
my first and second priorities are that my child and soon to be child are well taken care of and that all the bills are paid. if i had no other choice but to take used clothes or buy them at a thrift store then i would, but i do have the choice to and i choose to buy my daughter and will be buying the baby new clothing. just like the baby will have a new crib, bassinet etc.....
And so i dont have to keep seeing the same post over and over: YES I KNOW PEOPLE TRY ON CLOTHES, I'M NOT AN IDIOT. and its not like when someone hands me clothing fromt their kids i say" i dont want your disgusting, dirty old clothes" i dont do that. dont assume i do.
take them and give them to a shelter/safenest
I am always trying to find someone who will take my sons used clothing.. Its seems such a waste to throw out a hundred dollar outfit he wore once.. ehh everyone is different i suppose..
Just curious... will you allow your kids to wear each others clothes?
Quoting hellokittyy:take them and give them to a shelter/safenest
Why should she have to do that? Then she is the "dumping ground" for other peoples' unwanted stuff.
If she doesn't want anything used, that's her prerogative. I see nothing wrong with it so long as she's polite when she says "no thanks."
i won't put my son in used clothes either.
it's just my preference.
if my situation changed and i couldn't afford new clothes all the time, then i guess i'd have to suck it up. but if i can afford to my child will be in new clothes.
i'm not hurting anyone else :)
