am i the only one who dislikes the term "kid"
it just seems....i dont know, so cold....and if used right, it can seem mean.
am i the only one?
(FOR EXAMPLE)
instead of saying 'how is your son?'
does it not sound at least a little bad to say....
"how is your kid"

I understand what you're saying. I much prefer to say "My daughter isn't here" instead of "My kid isn't here".

I never use "kid" that is a baby goat. I have children (who act like heathens sometimes but *shrug*)
When referring to them it's either "my boys" "my children" or their nicknames if speaking of just one (ie: The Tiny Tyrant, Sheldon the second {from big bang theory})
Disclaimer: nicknames are full of love, no malice intended at all
