My dh and family don't know it either. I am learning to preserve foods and i am stock piling as much food and medical supplies. I'm a black belt in tae kwon do and am trained with knife wielding. I have over 40 packets of seeds for crops and just started collecting bottles of water.

My dh thinks its crazy. And he doesnt notice cause he works sunrise to sunset and isnt very observant when home lol so thats how i can hide it. I don't think 2012 Mayan crap will happen but i do believe a disaster will happen soon causing hyperinflation and i want my family to be prepared. I'm also in the process of finding a disaster buddy for it shit goes too crazy here in Maryland, we can go and help survival of another family by using our gardening(i have a great green thumb) and defensive skills.

I wish we had guns. I need to buy and hide knives I'm just worried my 2 yr old will find one.

Well, it's great to be prepared for the worst.  

How are you going to handle it if my husband points his Glock at you at 30 feet away?  Maybe you should consider a gun because others will have them.
