Not a baby untill the mother gives birth?

This makes no sense what so ever. People who believe this confuse me.

So a 'fetus' is kicking and rolling in your tummy, in the form of a baby, but it is not a baby till the mother gives birth? So does it go through some major change in the birth canal that suddenly makes it a baby? In a C-section, when the doc opens the uterus and the fetus is exposed it goes through some kid of transformation in those few seconds that suddenly make it human?

What is the difference between a fetus in your belly 2 minutes ago, and the baby now in your arms?

The only difference I see is in, then out.

I don't think conception is the word you are looking for...

When it's born it has it's own rights.

I don't like using the technical terms for a baby before its born. I have always called it a baby no matter what form or stage it was in. Its always a baby.

A fetus is the term for when it's inside the womb. Once it's out, it's medically no longer a fetus. I don't know the medical term for baby though. I referred to my baby as a fetus and sometimes, jokingly, a parasite. After I found out her gender though, I called her miss peanut.

I dont get it either. I knew my babies were "my babies" the moment I saw a little pink +...they were never "just a fetus" to me!

Lol. Why? Because it gets a ss # or something?

Phisically the only difference is in or out, I'm not talking about the law.
