seriously do own any and would you open carry if you feared for your family's safety?

I don't own one, but I would if I had a permit.
I have people that I've put in prison that probably aren't very happy with me, and it's not just about me, it's about my kids too.

No we do not own any guns, I would never carry a gun and Nope I never fear for my family's safety. And I live in the middle of a city of close to a million people.
I am not against guns. I have nothing against guns, gun ownership or gun owners themselves. I personally just have no need, desire or intention of owning a gun.

We have a lot of guns and we both carry.
It takes minutes for the police to arrive but it only takes seconds for a situation to go bad. It is naive, and honestly I feel it is irresponsible, to assume that you can just call the police and you will be be saved.

It is my right to carry and I don't need a justifying reason other than "I want to".
ETA I do own handguns and have a permit to carry them concealed.
