Why do people keep getting pets they don't want or want to kill for their pets whole life?
My cousin has gone through 4 dogs and 10 cats in the last 2 years..
you would think they would just stop getting animals right?
After keeping them for about 2 to 4 months they give the animals away..
If you don't want to spend the years on the pet that they need DON'T get one...
AM I the only one who understand that?
Thats awesome <3
Quoting Orionsgirl:I have had quite a few simply because I have a horrible habit of picking up strays. We only keep them long enough to spay/neuter and give shots then rehome them. I do NOT want to own a pet but I can't stand to see them suffering.
=( all my kitties are stricktly indoor and fixed. My parents had 2 before I was born and they lived for like 13 years (until I was in the 4th grade) The got a few more after they died and they are all going on 10years and up.. except for the 2 new kittens who are like 2 maybe 3.
I love animals and I dont see how people could just bring them in, throw them out and move on to next weeks interest. =( so sad. Those poor animals dont have a choice... "oh I cant keep them in when they go into heat.." So get them fixed?!?!?!?!
ughhhrrr. Irresponsible pet owners.

So people are just not good pet owners. Sometimes shit happens, when I was a kid we had a few cars with in a year, my moms cat got killed by the neighbor boys, then we got another one and he just up and died because he was poisoned. Then I got a cat and she was awesome, she had a kitten just one and I loved her but the kitten was eaten by my grandmothers dog. Sometimes things just happen other times well people just suck. When I got with my df he came with a dog and he has had her for 7 years now, she is the only pet we have.
I think she meant more along the lines of people who just get rid of their animals because the "newness" has worn off. I could be mistaken, but that is why I got from it.

I had 2 cats and was happy with them but I went to my sisters house and she had to tiny tiny kittens that were trapped in a cage with no food or water and they never took them out to play. My niece has killed several animals (one a bird that she covered with a pillow and sat on to punish it) and I didn't want these cats to suffer so we took them. Plus I was pregnant and hormonal. It was ok for a few years but then they were peeing on stuff and we couldn't get them to stop and they weren't good with the kids. One ran away and we never found him, the other I found a home for. One of our original cats didn't like the kids either, he has anxiety problems so I found him a kid free home. We only have one cat now and I can't imagine having to care for any other animals so regardless of how much my son loves dogs we will not be getting one. My sister and her daughters cycle through animals often as well.

Ya I know but I was just stating that something you get more because bad things happened.
