I see so many posts on here about over the top rude store clerks and servers. It is usually something dramatic too, like "The waitress at Applebee's screamed at my kid because she asked for extra ketchup and called her an idiot, all the while pouring a scalding hot pot of coffee on her!!!"
In all my years of going to restaurants and stores, I can honestly say I've only encountered a handful of really rude servers and store employees. This leads me to come up with a couple of theories. Either A-Most of the stories on here are either total bull or greatly exaggerated. or B-Some people have such a snotty attitude towards store clerks and servers, thinking they are beneath them, so they go in with a chip on their shoulder to begin with. No matter what the servers or clerks do, these people are going to find something to complain about, and go out of their way to be rude to them.
Just my opinion!!!
Yup some people are just miserable people & will find fault then blow it out of porportion when re telling the story. I was a waitress for 6 years & now am a cashier. I have come across several rude customers (most of them were at the Olive Garden while I was pregnant) but outside of those few months in general people are not as rude as everyone on cafemom wants to make them out to be.
I think B is it for most people on here!
I'm very nice and considerate to servers and have NEVER had a truly horrible experience, even though I go out to eat and of course shop all the time. my mom, on the other hand, is a complete bitch and I rarely even go out with her anymore. And somehow she always manages to attract some over the top rude server. I always tell her it's you, not them!!

I only remember one specific incident of a really rude server, I mean REALLY rude!! My husband and I were traveling and stopped at a Denny's in Georgia. I asked the waitress a simple question about an appetizer platter, and she got a MAJOR attitude with me!!! Needless to say, she didn't get a tip. I would have spoken to the manager about her, but we were anxious to get back on the road. We never went back there. I've run into servers who aren't the friendliest, but aren't over the top nasty either.
