I had enough...I finally cracked on this man at work.
I am assistant manager at a very large gas station franchise. This same guy comes in every.single.damn.day. acting like he has some sort of a disability and today was the last straw.
He came in and decided that he was going to mess with one of our new cashiers. He pretended like he was deaf and he couldn't speak and starting pointing at the tobacco products and making grunting noises. The new cashier was getting frustrated and starting feeling bad because she couldn't understand what it was that he wanted and she even looked like she was on the verge of tears...it made me feel bad for her and get pissed with him. I was on the phone with my dad about a family emergency that involved having to drop my children off at someones house and his distraction was irritating the living hell out of me. I finally put down my phone and said "Excuse me, but I find you behavior, today and every other damn day you come in here, extremely insulting to people with REAL disabilities". Of course, all of a sudden he could speak then and proceeded to tell me how I HAD to put up with his BS. WRONG ANSWER! I told him "Get your shit and get out, now!". I am sure I will hear about it tomorrow.
The new cashier and the customers were all apalled at his behavior because they were trying to have patience with him because they thought he was deaf. I apologized to each and every person in the store for my behavior and they all said they couldn't blame me for the way I reacted.
I have seen this man come in limping, drooling, dressed like a homeless person, pretending to be deaf (this was not the first time he did this), being REALLY loud and everyone would excuse it because they literally thought he was mentally handicap in some form. Then all of a sudden he is "normal" again after his purchase is made and he is on his way out the door.
I really do feel sorry for my actions. I was alone all weekend for Easter and my missed my kids and DF profusely, like I never had before. Then I get a phone call from the ex saying his nephew fell off of a roof and broke his neck and was in ICU and he had to take the kids to my dad. Then my dad calls wanting to know whats going on because of the way my ex literally dropped the kids off at the front door and took off without an explanation. I was in no mood for his BS.......
My little brother had cerebral palsy, I don't think that fooling someone into thinking you are handicap for shits and giggles is very funny...and I can have a really crude sense of humor.
I am a *don't really give a damn what you think* and *couldn't care less how you discipline and feed your kids/babies* and *pro-mind your own business* type of mom. Oh, and a very devoted and loving girlfriend:)
