I couldn't care less that you need assistance from the government, if you need help, you need it.  At this point in my life I have been lucky enough that I never needed assistance...But as a society, I feel we should all help each other out!  If you need assistance, use it, and feel NO shame!

Quoting Chuckydoodle:

Perhaps, but this was to go all along the fifty states. With the cost of food these days I can imagine that 60 dollars would be a lot to someone who uses it.

A bit off topic but still part of the debate, I just read that their is a movement to cut foodstamps by $60.00 a month, and tighten the qualifying factors. As well as cut back on daycare assistance. That will add all the more drama.

Girl this happend already in Cali

Oh ya girl most definitely it will hurt those that need it I use to get it when i needed it and they cut my fs to 348 to 240 but i no longer need it so screw it but even child care my bby sitter use to get payed for me working full time 760 a month and went down to 450 a month it sucked but thank god i have a good paying job now and don't need it anymore.

You've just defined the role of charitable organizations, something the government is NOT.

You will still have money coming out of your check, but what you get back in April will be more than what you paid. So in the end you don't pay anything.

so I shouldnt have anything come out of my check?

If you qualify for PA you do not end up paying anything in taxes.

Are you implying my husband shouldn't be allowed to eat?
In our city we're incredibly lucky he found the job he has, but it's not enough to pay the rent
