Are you a photographer? Do you think the title is extremely overused? Do you feel that your work is worthy of the title "Professional Photographer"? Do you want to throw yourself over a cliff, when you see people charge $25 for a session, and offer their Picnik edited photos on a disc?

Show off your work, if you're brave enough!

yeah and not EVERY picture needs to have it hazy like that either.   overkill and probably the reason that her customers come to her is because they don't know any better

It does seem that everyone and their grandmother has become a photographer lately. But I try not to the let the cheap/bad newbies get to me. It's not like they're stealing my clients, becuase I wouldn't want those clients anyways. =)

part of the loyal customer base may also be due to prices. Im not aure what you charge for a session. I know in my area, a good wedding photographer is 3000+, while you can get someone who does decent work for half that.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I've been doing this for nearly a decade and have many very loyal clients who travel significant distances for me to photograph them.

Quoting Anonymous:

I'm sorry but your photography sucks. You crowd your pictures and make them look very unbalanced

No I'm not a photographer. I dont even give a shit.

My phone takes great photos of my kiddo. Thats all I need. Grandma pays for the expensive photography crap, from someone that actually went to school for that shit.

I agree. WAY over edited in the WRONG way.

I'm going to take some photography classes but I wouldn't ever call myself a professional photographer. I say that I want to be able to take professional looking pictures but I'm doing it for me, not to make money. And yes, I do agree with you.

I'm definantly not a pro. I will take pictures for people, but like alot of my "art jobs" I do them for free. I have never really owned a camera with a comparable resolution to pro photographers. Hell, most of my shots are taken with a cell phone or a cheap digital camera. I am sorry there's so many of them, i just really like sharing art stuff.

I've always really liked this shot of DD, taken a few hours before the storms of Hurrican Ike hit, just as the wind was really beginning to pick up.

Rotten Composition but I loved the way the light and colors played on this setting.

Another bad composition, but the lighting was downright ethereal

YAY autumn

If it hadn't come out so poorly contrasted, it would have been pretty.

Taken years ago on a cheap no contract flip phone :3

Same flip phone

There are so many ways this could have been a better shot, but I built the costume, did the makeup and hair.. she IS my greatest work of art

Obligatory water lily shot

A humor shot. This was a "trying to make the best of it" shot. No power after Ike, and I had almost ten lbs of cheap hamburger meat that kept falling through the grill. My great solution failed miserably.

You posted 3 pictures in a row saying that THIS  is what professional pictures look like. Let me tell you professional pictures would NEVER have such unbalance from side to side nor so much extra room at the top of the subject.

God, I hate that term. Everyone thinks they are a photographer when in reality just about anyone can take the same pic, crop it, and do it up with instagram. Ugh.
