Need thoughts on tubal ligation (especially those that have had one)
So i'm having my 3rd soon...I have 2 boys (8 and 5) and a girl on the way...My debate is whether this will be my last and make it permanent and get my tubes tied during my c-section...Or just take my chances afterward...I'm not interested in birth control after I have her so that isn't an option, but i'm curious to know how did you make the decision that that was it for you?
I have 4 kids and knew that I didn't want to have any more. So the day after I gave birth to my son I had my tubes tied, that was 3 years ago.
I am currently pregnant with my second child. I have a two year old son, and this one is a girl. DH and I don't want anymore children after this one. Like you, I'm not interested in getting on any kind of birth control after this. My hubby and I have discussed it, and have decided he's going to have a vasectomy. I plan on having a vaginal birth, however, if for any reason I have to have a c-section, I am going to tell them to tie my tubes while they are in there.
So you just had a feeling in your heart that 4 was enough...I like that reason...Guess I need to decide if that is it for me and 3 is enough.

I got Essure done. I knew about half-way through my pregnancy that I could not do that again. So I started looking into my options. I researched tubal ligations but they scared me. There is such a high failure rate (high in my opinion) and there is always a chance of PTLS. I researched vasectomies but once again the failure rate scared me. Those tubes (in men or women) can regrow and knowing my luck that would happen to me or my spouse. I then found Essure. I like the stats on it. No real chance of self-reversal without my knowledge. And no chance of PTLS. So I had it done. I LOVE it. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
How did you come to the decision to have your tubes tied in case of a c-section? Especially since hubby is already having a vasectomy...

I had essure done as well.
Non surgical intervention, permanent, no hormones. Have had zero issues.

i knew i wanted only 2 children, whether it be B/B, G/G, G/B ,B/G, i had horrible pregnancies and i am not getting any younger.. plus if it ever came down to it, i could still do IVF.
Yes ma'am my kids are so close together ages 7, 6, 4 1/2 & 3. So, I told my husband that is it I wanted an other girl but I had 3 boys and one girl.
