If this baby is a girl, we are naming her Miroslava. It's weird to some American ears but here in Russia, it's not weird at all lol. But then again, we didn't try to think of something unusual or trendy.
I'm inclined to agree with you on this. I have nothing against names that are a little different or ethnic, but if they sound like something the kids are going to get teased mercilessly for, i'm like why do they have to do that to their kids. It's not only the teasing when they're kids, which will be bad enough, but imagine them trying to get taken seriously as an adult with a really bizarre or silly sounding name.

Ya, the names are kind of out of control lately.
My youngest's name is Oakley Acorn and our last name starts with K. We get TONS of complements on his name and other kids just think he's cool. No one has ever, to my knowledge made fun of him for his name.
