A woman breastfeeds her newly adopted child from Ethiopia (age 6) and her biological child at the same time, to help the adopted child feel more bonded to her...  Do think this is odd?

Yes and no. I don't think I could do it. But, I wouldn't look down at someone else who did.

It doesn't offend me at all, do I find it strange? Yes...and not because the child is adopted but because he is 6.

However, her boobs are her business so *shrugs*

It depends on when she adopted him. If he was weaned at the age of 1 and she adopted him at the age of 6 and encouraged him to breastfeed again, I'd think that was odd.

Yes. I think it is strange to breastfeed a 6 year old--whether biological or adopted.

It's a little odd to me but if that is what she feels she needs to do to get that bond with him so be it

I mean, I feel weird about a six year old breastfeeding, but at the same time, it's only weird to me cause there's a stigma on that sort of thing. My friend still nurses her three year old and he'll be four soon. And yeah, it's probably a good way to bond with an adopted child, nursing is very bonding.
