Feed Your Baby The "Normal" Way

I have been told this NUMEROUS times since YDD was born.

She was 100% breastfed until she started solids at around 8 months and she just now self weaned at almost 17 months.

I had so many people tell me to feed her the "normal" way and give her formula.

Since when is giving a baby formula the "normal" way of feeding them?

I've never had a person IRL tell me how to feed my baby.
For a lot of people, ff is normal.

Yikes. You must live in an area with very low breastfeeding rates?

I formula fed. I would never say anything to a breastfeeding woman though. Screw them, your kid was lucky to get breastmilk, its healthier.

Most of the girls I know FF.

I had a long time friend who went to nursing school tell me that formula and breastmilk are the EXACT same.

Smh... That is really, really, really sad... I am with you- you fed her the "normal" way- "normal" being defined as the way babies have been fed for millenia. Congrats on nursing so long! DS self-weaned at 13.5 months, because I was pregnant and he hated the change in my milk! Lol!

I bf my daughter for almost a year and never once had someone comment on the way I chose to feed her except to say they would proud of me for sticking with it.
