How often do you feed your kids?

I swear my son is always eating something. I think I am doing something wrong here so I have to ask. Do you give your kids snacks at specific times of the day or do you feed then when they are hungry and ask for food. My son is 3 and constantly asks for more food throughout the day. Maybe it is a growth spurt but I really think he is eating too much. So what do you moms think?

Same here, he's always eating but I don't see it as a problem.

I don't feed them, they feed themselves. They eat whenever they want and that's a lot... :)

My daughter eats ALL the time.  I dont think she goes a half hour when she is awake at home without eating.  I would guess she eats about 3000 calories a day.  I even questioned if she was puking it up because she is so thin.  She just is an active kid and still growning so she burns it up.

Children actually have it right. They eat small amounts numerous times a day. They eat until they are no longer hungry then stop. Once they feel hungry again they want food. He may be going through a growth spurt as well, but he sounds normal.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner with a snack in between lunch and dinner, usually after naps. I cut out the snacking throughout the day because they wouldn't eat meals. Fruit I never say no to, an apple isn't something they will fill up on and not eat.

We have a set schedule and meal plan. They drink water if they need to wait for the next meal. We eat 4 times a day and desert before bed.
