I'm a bad bad mother. EDIT in RED

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

For sure.

I only breastfed for 9 weeeks. I didn't stop on purpose
My daughter had a dummy at 5 days old. - I got stressed out down town one day and bought her one.
She's be on and off solids since she was 3 months old. -hasn't done any damage.
I only baby wore for a month. -killed my back
My daughter used to sleep in her pram. -grew out of her basinett
I've let her have milk products under 6 months. - not really any harm in it, and it was only yoghurt and custard.
I swear around her.
I smoke (but not around her)
I never swaddled her, she has had a blanket since birth.
I smoked and drank when I was pregnant with her. - I was too weak to give up smoking, and only drank occasionally and it was light.
I don't recycle. - haha
I have sex with her in the room. she's too little to know anything.

So, I'm bad right?

I only read to page 2 so forgive me if these questions have been answered already.

Yes, she does sound British.   I'm guessing if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's a duck.

A dummy is a pacifier

A pram is a stroller or a buggy.

She is Not a bad mum

My own mum

Fed all 3 of her kids on formula and often added rice cereal

Started all of us on solid foods at 3 months of age

Laughed at me when I tried, years later to wear my baby and then when I quit because of a bad back said I told you so. (her babies were always in the buggy)

let us have a dummie as newborns, my sister kept her's until she was 3

I remember my younger sister always sleeping in her "pram" as a little baby (my mum called it a buggy) Mum said she slept happier there.

She took us off formula at 5 or 6 months of age and gave us cows milk instead

Custard was a favorite treat and she gave it too us often saying how much we loved it.

I have no idea if she swaddled her babies.

She did smoke all of her life, and when pregnant. I know she had an occasional drink too.

What's recycling?

I don't even want to know if she had sex when we were infants in the same room. I am not asking her that, LOL but when I had my eldest she was often in the bedroom right next to ours.

She was also a wonderful mother, very caring and was always there for us and made us feel loved and wanted. All the above didn't matter in the end. We grew up healthy and are now raising families of our own. So, even thought she might have not always been prefect, she was a very good mother because she loved us.

Are you British? And a glass of wine is fine, how much did you drink exactly?

About 5 light beers the whole pregnancy.

Some people may find them questionable....I however feel everyone does things differntly and don't see any dramatically bad things going on. If she's healthy and taken care of then no your not a bad mommy :) only thing I personally don't agree with is smoking and drinking while pregnant. But that's it :)
