i called my dd the other day and was just talking to her about how being a mom was and whats going on with everything, and i asked her if her dad takes the baby for an hour or 2 so her and her fiance can have alone time, go on a date, ect.. (she doesnt live with her dad but he's the closest one since he lives a block away from them) and she said "no we have to go to my df's house to even spend 20 minutes alone and even then were only allowed to walk to mcdonalds and back before they call us to come get him"

i find that really sad, me and her dad always had family watch her every couple weeks so we can go out to dinner in peace or just spend time alone and now her dad and his whole family and her fiances family are treating my dd and their ds like a disease they dont want to take him for more then 20 minutes and my grandson is the most well behaved quiet 9 month old...

idk it's just sad to me that my dd and her fiance have to drive an hour to his families house to only get 20 minutes of peace, i know its not anyones resposability to watch my dd's ds but them but still every parent needs a break once in a while and they havent gotten one in 9 months, dd doesnt even get mothers day without her ds (idk if she wants to be alone or not)

It is kind of sad, but some people just don't like babysitting. My parents are in their 50s and get wore out! They do take the kids overnight if we ask.

Time for them to get a babysitter or swap with friends.

Time for them to find a sitter they trust. My sister helped me a lot before I moved out of state. I searched and interviewed for months before I found my sitter, but she is my best friend now and my kids adore her.

We live nowhere near any family. You make due. Our daughter is 19 months.

She doesn't have any friends that would watch the baby for a couple hours?

We don't live near any family. Dh and I haven't had time away from the kids for almost 2 years. I'm sure your dd will live.

Dh and I never had anyone to watch our kids ever. A good friend of mine watched them once but the rest of the times we paid for a babysitter. Wish we had someone to help once in awhile but thats life.
