My son is having some kind of spitting issue. It's super cute, but my clothes are covered in his spit....he will blow raspberries, wipe his spit on me, lick me, any way to get it all over me. I have tried time-out, and asking him not too, he just thinks its funny. He doesn't do it to anyone but me.

Possibly teething?

I'm not mad at him, just trying to see what its from (reason for time outs)

Also, he might be teething, and he is a little sick right now (maybe he has a little extra saliva on his hands?)

Jeez, who knows. Hope I don't catch pneumonia.

Anyways. Love the kid.

Still think it's super cute. Just wondering if it's a phase?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine is doing the same at the moment. He has a horrible rash on his chin from all that saliva, so I hope it stops soon!!

I find spit to be as nasty as human waste so it would just torment me to try and stay calm about that.
I applaud your bravery to deal with your kid's spit like you do.

1 mom liked this

My son is 18 months and always makes that farting noise and spits..rasberried I guess? He also licks my shoulder when I hold him. I am used to being covered in his spit. It is like my new body spray. lol. His molars are coming thru..so maybe that is why. He also had been sticking his toungue out more , I think he is feeling his new teeth with it.

I used to think i could never handle poop until i had my son... but, i do just fine and am forever on poop-duty.
The spit thing though never went away. Just can't handle it no matter who he is. Of course i don't freak out or anything, i just kinda panic in my mind when it gets on me and i have to get it off quickly. I learned a long time ago that showing your irrational fears and weakness like that just makes it ammunition against you.

Feet and spit are mine and i made the mistake of telling dh about the feet and he thinks it's HILLARIOUS. It would end up puching him to do harm if he purposly got his spit on me.
