Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

My evil confession...UPDATE*****

I wish we had enough money, that I never had to do laundry again or just hire someone to do it. Today is bedding day(every Monday), and I have about 10 loads in front of me to do. I do towels tomorrow, and then reg laundry the next day. Does anyone else feel like all they do is cook clean do laundry, then rinse and repeat everyday?

Sometimes being a SAHM gets to me, I can't wait to go back to work when my 2yo gets in school. I love my kids and my husband and our home, but I am ready to get some time away during the week!

Thank you to all of you, this has been such a nice post and so refreshing to see. I think we all agree to an extent to being overwhelmed, and we all have motherhood in common. With being a mother comes the responsibility of taking on so much, our children and our home and our husbands. Some of us work outside the home, and some of us stay at home. I think there are pros and cons to both, work at home moms get the break while at work but they still have to come home and work some more. SAHM's are doing it all day long, and it can be so overwhelming.

The past 16 years have taught me alot, but more then anything it  has taught me that what I do for my family is amazing and most will never know how much we as mommas do. I am going to say it to you now though, wtg and you are so awesome for everything you do for your families. The big things that they see, and the little ones they will never know about.

We are Moms and we are awesome, we hold the future of the world in our hands and our hearts. All that matters at the end of the day is that we love our families, and no matter if we are at home or at work we kick butt!

Just curious.. why is your 2 year old going to go to school? Is that when pre-k starts now?? Just asking because I have a 18 mo old and I am not ready to let go of him! lol

LOL he is not going yet, in another 2 years. It is just when you have been doing this as long as I have(16 years), two years is a drop in the bucket sorry for the confusion!

I feel like that's all I ever do sometimes. It seems like I just get everything done and caught up and then it's time to do it again! I don't want to go to work but I wish sometimes I had someone else to do it. Hope you have a good day!!!

I have been doing this for 16  years, so it is getting a bit old. I am ready to interact with adults again, aside from weekends out with friends. It is like a never ending cycle, and don't get me wrong I am so grateful that I have been lucky enough to be able to stay home with my kids. It is just that sometimes you can get too much of a good thing, and I feel like I should have a mop in one hand and a vacuum in the other at all times. I am just ready to get back out in the world again, I will miss the playdates and the fun things I get to do with the kids but I am ready. He will start preschool in 2 years, so I can make it I am just glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Have a great day too, and thanks for making me feel like I am not alone!

I've been married for 17 years but I've only had kids since I was 30 and now I'm 36. It's amazing how much extra 2 little kids can produce!!! I get alot of help from my parents and my hubby when he's home from work and that makes a big difference! :)

1 mom liked this

I do laundry every day. We have 6 in the family so there is enough laundry to do a load of clothes and a load of towels. I do the bedding on Monday so there is more then but it never gets piled up

We are a family of 8, and for the most part it never piles up too much. But when  you have a 7yo little girl who has to change 30 times a day, and a toddler who is constantly spilling things. It tends to creep up on you, I am good with my schedules(because you have to be with a big family), but I am getting tired and I do not have the energy I did when we started our family 16 years ago!

I hate Mondays so I dont schedule any of the icky stuff on Mondays. I do daycare and the kids are tired and crabby from the weekend...so we take it easy! Tues-Friday I try to get all my stuff done so that I dont have to work on the weekends!

I had to put a stop to my 5 yr old changing clothes all the time. She would literally wear everyting she has in a day if I'd let her.

I remember the spilling everything days too....glad to be done with those.

Do your older kids help out? My 12 and 11 yr olds do a lot to help around the house and the 5 yr old is starting to try to help.

Oh yes, I do not clean my childrens rooms they do. We have Sat morning deep cleaning, and all my kids participate and they have their own chores. I do laundry while the other kids are in school, and my 2yo can't really help there. During the day is when I do my cleaning and laundry and making meals, so I am on my own there. I get help, but in the end the buck stops here. Sometimes it can be overwhelming running a household, and having 6 kids who have 6 different schedules and different needs.

Oh wow, you have put in a lot of years! That's awesome. I would say you are ready for a change of pace. Your kids must be spaced out?

Yup it's a never ending cycle. But, I accept it and do it to the best of my abilities. I don't stress if a load goes undone for a day and whatnot. My work years a far ahead of me, so I make the most of being a stay at home mom and the time I have with my girls. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Yep the first ten years was not bad at all, but now I am just getting tired and I am ready for a change. It is awesome that you embrace it, because it really is such a precious time in their lives. I would not trade the last 16 years either, I have a bond with my kids that I would never want to take away!
