in this article and video, one mom lets her 4 year old daugther wear make up even out in public. when they ask the little girl why she likes make up? she said so that she can be pretty. not like its fun to pretend or be like mommy.

Would you let your four year old wear make up? ( also im not talking about if they are in recitals or halloween)

my 5yo likes to wear lipstick. I pick very light shades that go with her skin tone. She says she wants to look pretty like mommy but when told she is much more pretty without do you know what she says? "I know :)" lol thats my girl

Sometimes if she asks, I will put some lipstick/gloss on her to wear at home. It is not about being pretty though, she just wants to be like me. She did get her make-up professionally done this weekend........ BUT it was for her first recital (which was one of your exceptions).

Mommy to a sweet little princess named Saylor, and expecting a bouncing baby boy, Finley.

Yeah recitals are usually like that, I know when i did dance at 4 we had to have a lot of make up on.

My daughter is 4..she has a small collection of little girls' Disney Princess makeup and nail polish, but she doesn't put it on herself (except for the lip balm). We'll play around and I'll paint her nails and put a little shimmer eyeshadow and some lip gloss or balm on her, but no more, and she never wears any makeup outside the house. She knows it is just for fun, and that she doesn't need to wear makeup to be pretty.

My dd is 4 and I occasionally let her wear make up out of the house.

She thinks its fun and she likes to be like me. Its not like she has a full face, she usually dusts a little bronzer and some gloss on. You can hardly tell she is wearing it.

I would only in the house and it would be a fun thing, playing dress up etc., but only eyeshadow and lip gloss, maybe a tad bit of blush. nothing like eye liner or concealer etc.
