If breasts are naturally lumpy from the milk ducts, how do you tell if one lump is any different from another? Honest question.

It is a lump that you can roll your fingers over. I had them bad as a teenager. Since having kids and breasfeeding they are gone. But, so are my breast pretty much...

I went to the doctor recently because of this. She told me I Fibrocystic Breast Disease and my breasts are naturally lumpy. If you notice a lump not going anywhere or if you have any pain or nipple discharge or the lump feels hard then go in. I am going to go back in three months to get mine rechecked. I have one large lump that is cause for concern, but she put me on a vitamin regimen and diet to see if that would help bring it down, if not then I will have a biopsy done.

Also she said, feeling around too much can cause a lump to swell up more and stress it out. So just do the usual once a month self exam.

If you check regularly you get to know what is normal for your breasts. If you notice any new lumps that seem to never have been there before you should go get checked out.

So not everyone has lumpy breasts?

No, not everyone. It can come from genetics, too much caffeine, too much nicotine and not enough vitamins. There is really no concrete proof of what causes it but they try to eliminate things before they do any type of unnecessary testing.
