When you started potty training, did you start him off standing up or sitting on the potty? I'm new to this.

I waited until he started doing it himself. He sat for about a week and then decided he wanted to stand.

Sitting then taught him to stand. Less mess that way.

Sitting. My ds didn't learn to pee standing up until 3 or a little bit before 3

We're just starting to really get into this too. When my husband is home he takes him into the bathroom with him so he can see how his dad does it, but I also let him sit on the toilet throughout the day. He doesn't really seem to be comfortable peeing while he's standing when he's in front of the toilet. I say, go with whatever seems to work w/your boy. ;)

Sitting and then we moved on to standing. For aim and more fun for the boys we used cheerios in the toilet. They could aim at them so it wouldn't go everywhere.

Matter of fact, they're 13 &14 and I still consider using cheerios again.
