When you started potty training, did you start him off standing up or sitting on the potty? I'm new to this.

i started mine sitting on the little kid potty until he really knew what he was doing. then when he got a little bored, showing him how to stand up and be cool like a big guy was a way to keep him going, kind of changed the pace for him a little.

We started sitting. That way while he was getting the hang of it there was no confusion with #2. He started standing on his own out of nowhere when he was 3

I'm doing sitting first, but just until he gets it then we'll do standing. I think it depends on your child's age. If you are potty training a 3 year old you could just start off standing. If you're potty training a 20 month old, standing and aiming might be a bit beyond him kwim?
